MOHAWK RIVER AREA
SEE ABCD MEETING PAGE TO FIND MEETINGS IN OUR AREA AND REGION
The Mohawk River Area was established in 1998 as one of the three original areas of the ABCD Region. The MRA is aptly named as it encompasses a geographic area that follows the path of the great Mohawk River, covering most of the cities, towns and villages in Schenectady, Schoharie, Montgomery and Fulton Counties in the State of New York. Many of our cities and towns were named by the Mohawk tribe of the Iroquois Nation. In fact, the word Schenectady is translated to mean a place beyond the pines, Schoharie translated means drift or flood wood.
